At New Song Music Academy, private lessons follow a five-part curriculum built to grow well-rounded musicians: 1. Technique
2. Sight-reading on the Grand Staff
3. Classical Repertoire
4. Contemporary Music by ear and chords
5. Music Theory
Lessons run 30 minutes for students five and under, and 45 minutes for students five and up — offered once a week, though we recommend twice-weekly 45-minute lessons for the fastest, most consistent growth.
Lessons take place right in your home or at one of our studios, whichever fits your family best. And because who's teaching matters as much as what's taught, we invest heavily in hiring instructors who genuinely love to teach — not just musicians who happen to give lessons on the side.
Beyond weekly lessons, our students can be part of:
-
Music Theory classes (all ages) — so playing an instrument turns into really understanding music
-
Group ensembles, including our New Song Young Artists — a chance to make music alongside other students, not just alone in a practice room
-
Performances that matter — from our end-of-semester recital to community showcases like our Hispanic Heritage Concert
